Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and often stylized with the letters in uppercase in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the record label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews from bloggers as well as the media. The artist has already recorded two highly-profile cover songs Half the World Away by the band Oasis in a commercial for Christmas from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry's support for her song Runaway via a blog post added to the musician's acknowledgement. Celebrate her special birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in her attic and being captivated by the sounds it produced. Her parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to take up music not as a profession or a pastime, but for growth. She started writing lyrics of her own. She has cited renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in her influences, along with an appreciation for the style of Bjork. Her mother had told her the songs she composed might not be famous for her, but instead to inspire individuals to recognize the importance of their work and influence to this world, she began performing them publicly. She started playing piano at the age of six, and began writing music at age nine. Family members didn't even be aware of this until she reached the age of fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. Her sole passion is to write music. According to her, the songs she creates are how she feels about anything.
